Composite Polypropylene & PTFE Flexible Hose

Share: FacebookTwitterStumble
Composite hoses are manufactured on the mandrel wrapped principle. the hose consists of an inner wire spiral upon which layers of fabric and film are wrapped, and bound with an external wire spiral. The tension between each other of the wire spirals gives the hose its pressure capability. the heart of a composite hose is in the materials selection.

Construction

Composite hoses are manufactured from Polypropylene and Polyethylene films and fabrics with a weather-proof and  abrasion resistant outer cover. All the different layers are wrapped together and tensioned between internal  and   external wire spirals. This construction gives and exceptionally tough hose with maximum flexibility, Where  exceptionally low weight is requested, hoses with internal or both, internal and external wires in aluminum are available.

Characteristics:

  • Composite hoses, are designed  as general purpose hoses for the transfer of a wide variety of conveyants under  suction  or pressure. Composite hoses, are used in such applications as low pressure. transfer for road  and  rail tanker loading and discharging, storage tank and in-plant use. High chemical resistance, durability and strong construction for a long life, but at the same time light and flexible for ease of handling. All hoses are 100% aromatic resistant, anti static and can be used for suction and discharge.
  • Composite hoses are fitted with an extensive range  of couplings readily available externally swaged with Stainless Steel ferrules.

Safety

  • All hoses are tested at 11/2 times rated working pressure for safety and reliability, in accordance with BS 5842;1980 clause 6.4.Full test certification can be supplied on request.
  • Reduce the environmental risk of pollution and cost of spillage thanks to the unique features of Composite hoses.
  • Burst pressure indicated, is at ambient temperature when  tested in accordance with BS 5173 section 102.10.1990.
  • Electrical  continuity is achieved by the two wires bonded to the end fittings, this helps dissipate accumulated charge and to avoid static flash. The electric resistance of hose assemblies is less than 10 ohms, as required by BS 5842:1980 clause 6.2.
  • It is possible, on request, to offer a range of hoses with fire and flame resistance CL 1, please contact Technical Department for further information.

Handling & Maintenance Chart of Composite Flexible Hoses

Handling & Maintenance Chart of Composite Flexible Hoses

We are Offering a wide range of Handling & Maintenance.

INSTALLATION : The hoses must be supported to allow normal movement when under pressure (dimensional variations).

NORMS AND METHOD OF USE : Prior to installation it is  necessary to check the  characteristics of  the hose  carefully  to ensure that type, diameter and length conform to the required specification.

MAINTENANCE : Even when choice, storage and installation is carried out correctly, regular  maintenance is necessary. Frequency of the latter is determined by use. During regular checks, special attention must be paid to couplings and to appearance of irregularities which can indicate deterioration of the hose, After use, it is advisable  to empty the hoses carefully and if necessary, clean thoroughly. We recommend in any case, that the hoses be checked and tested under pressure once a year,

STORAGE : Hose  must  be  stored  in a relaxed condition free from tension, compression or other  deformation. Contact  with objects that could pierce or cut must be avoided.  when not in  use, hose should be stored in a dark place preferably,  avoiding  direct  sunlight  and  rain. It  must  be  protected  from rodents  and  insists, When  such  a  risk is probable, appropriate precautions must be taken.

NEVER  weld  reduction  couplings  or  flanges  onto  original  hose fittings,

NEVER close or hold the coupling ferrules in a bench vice as they could be deformed. If necessary, hold the hose itself, closing the vice onto the outside spirals of the hose.
